BEFORE YOUR SERICE

Facials and Peels:

Facials should be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. When preparing for any facial remember these things:

  1. Wear comfortable clothing.

  2. No need to wash off make-up. Cleansing will happen during the facial to fully remove any make-up and residue.

  3. Do not use heavy exfoliants or at-home facial treatments 48 hours/a fews days (depending on the facial) prior to your appointment.

  4. Stay out of intense direct sunlight and tanning beds a week before your facial.

  5. Make a list of the skin care brands you use at home to inform your esthetician.

  6. Complete the client intake form and make sure you are completely honest with your esthetician.

  7. Be prepared to discuss skin concerns and what you are looking for out of the facial.

Waxing:

Preparing for waxing is VERY important as it directly affects the outcome of the waxing.

  1. Make sure you have grown your hair out! Waxing cannot take place if the hair is too short or too long. For most all waxing 1/4-1/8 inch is recommended unless your esthetician lets you know otherwise.

  2. PLEASE make sure to exfoliate the day before your waxing appointment.

  3. During the week before your appointment please make sure you are moisturizing and keeping the skin properly hydrated.

  4. Make sure you have spoken to your doctor if you are taking medication. Some medications interfere with waxing and cause serious damage to the skin.

Lash Lift and Tint, Brow Lamination and Tint and Eyelash Extensions:

These services get immediate results and clients leave loving their new look. But please make sure to do the following:

  1. Come in with you lashes and brows clean. NO make-up on. If the esthetician has to take the time remove make-up they may charge more or even worse not have time for your appointment due to scheduling blocks for specific services.

  2. Avoid oil based products on your lashes or brows prior to and post service.

  3. Remember: with any lash services your esthetician will be working closely to your eyes. If you have sensitive eyes or regular eye irritation, lash services may not be for you. Check with your esthetician first if you have any concerns.

Spray Tan:

Becoming a golden god or goddess is one of the most satisfying services of them all! Come in prepared so your tan can last as long as possible with the best results.

  1. Exfoliate your body before you go in for your session. Also make sure you are showered and clean upon arrival.

  2. Avoid wearing lotions, deodorant, make-up or anything else on your body that will create a barrier for the tan solution.

  3. Wear dark, loose fitting clothing to ensure that the tan solution does not stain your garments.

  4. Make sure your calendar is cleared for activities for at least 2-4 hours after the tan. Sweating, swimming, and rigorous activity can break down the tan almost immediately. Waiting for the tan to set will give you the best results.

AFTER YOUR SERVICE

Facials and Peels:

Taking care of your skin after your facial is just as important as before your facial! Here are some tips of what you can do to prolong that amazing facial feel.

  1. Keep your skin properly hydrated. Drink lots of water post facial and make sure to moisturize and use SPF.

  2. If you exfoliate often make sure to check with your esthetician on when you can exfoliate again after your service. Some facials and peels can be much more exfoliating than others and you don’t want to damage the skin.

  3. Avoid make-up, steam, sun exposure, chlorine or any harsh chemicals immediately after your facial.

  4. Book regularly. Facials can be expensive and not all budgets allow for it, but if you can make it in once a year or once every week, keeping up on facials will help solve a lot of skin care issues. From aging, to acne, facials can help prevent and restore the skin.

Waxing:

make sure to care for your skin post waxing. The skin can be very sensitive after this service.

  1. If the skin is irritated for a prolonged period of time post wax reach out to your esthetician. Some at home remedies are cold compress, cool gels and aloe vera rub. Do not use harsh chemicals or heavily scented lotions/topicals post wax. It may cause more irritation.

  2. Keep your clothing loose as to not rub directly on the area that was recently waxed.

  3. Exfoliate and moisturize at the right time. Immediately following a wax you do not want to exfoliate or moisturize, but starting 24/48 hours after the service you are going to want to give the waxed area some extra love.

  4. In some cases you may need to use antiseptic creams or hydrocortisone cream to ease irritation. Reach out to your esthetician if you are experiencing irritation that last longer than a couple hours post wax. People can be allergic to some waxes. Check with your esthetician if you have skin allergies prior to your appointment to ensure waxing is safe for you.

Lash Lift and Tint, Brow Lamination and Tint and Eyelash Extensions:

To ensure your lashes and brows have lasting results be sure to do the following:

  1. Follow any specific instruction given to you by your esthetician religiously. Trust me… your esthetician knows if you have not followed the rules.

  2. Avoid rubbing the service area rigerously. Lash extensions, lash lifts and brow laminations can last 2 days or up to 6 weeks depending on how you treat the area after the service. Rubbing, picking, plucking and environmental factors can all play a roll in how long your service lasts.

  3. Do not use oil based products on your treated area unless otherwise directly told to do so by your esthetician. This can break down the glue or perm solutions.

Spray Tan:

Post tan care is detrimental and will determine how long your tan lasts. Get the most bang for your buck by doing the following:

  1. Avoid tight clothing until the tan has set. Usually between 2 and 4 hours. Tight clothing can cause the tan to rub off post spray.

  2. Don’t exfoliate until you are ready to say good bye to your tan.

  3. Stay away from moisture for at least 4 hours post tan. This is VERY important!

  4. Don’t shower or swim for at least 4-6 hours post tan.

  5. Do not use oil based moisturizers as they will reduce the longevity of your tan.

  6. Avoid steam rooms and long hot showers.

  7. Try to reduce skin to skin contact until the tan has set. Touching your own tan can affect how long your tan lasts immediately following your appointment.

  8. Always avoid harsh chemicals and chlorine if you want to your tan to last.
